3. Price the revised scope
Request line-item terms, overage treatment, future increases and transition obligations. Keep actual notice dates separate from preparation targets.
Start with the contract, not the headline discount
Record the exact product and edition, billing unit, committed quantity, measurement period and renewal notice date. Keep software fees separate from services and other charges. A reduction in operational use does not automatically reduce a contractual minimum.
